Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Animedic uses on animedic.app, why, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a site. They help the site remember your settings and understand how people use it. "Similar technologies" include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel/tag mechanisms.
2. What we set
We use a small set of cookies and browser-storage items, grouped into three categories. Only the Strictly necessary category is enabled by default. Everything else is off unless you opt in.
Strictly necessary
Required for the Site to function. These cannot be disabled.
animedic:consent:v1— stores your cookie choices so we can respect them on return visits.- Rate-limit counters stored server-side, keyed by your IP, to prevent abuse of our forms.
Preferences
Remember small UI choices across visits so the Site feels yours.
animedic:theme— whether you've chosen light or dark mode.animedic:audience— whether you're browsing as a pet parent or a vet, so you don't have to keep toggling.
Analytics
Help us understand what's working. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which collect anonymous, aggregated metrics about page views and performance. No advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking.
3. What we don't do
- We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
- We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
- We do not embed third-party marketing pixels (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, etc.).
4. Changing your preferences
You can change your choices at any time. The banner appears on first visit; afterwards, use the link below (also available in the footer) to reopen it.
You can also clear cookies and site storage through your browser at any time. Doing so will remove your preferences, and you'll see the banner again on your next visit.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser: if GPC is enabled, we treat it as a request to disable optional categories (preferences and analytics) even before you interact with the banner.
6. Children under 13
The Site is not directed to, intended for, or designed for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly set optional cookies on devices used by children under 13.
7. Changes to this Policy
As we add or remove tools we'll update this page. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the most recent revision.
8. Questions
Use our contact page for any cookie-related question.
